XREF Definition

License check

A license check is a part of a motor vehicle background report that is used to check the job applicant's driving history and criminal history check during the hiring process, including traffic violations, suspensions, revocations, type of license granted, and restrictions on use. It’s advisable for employers to check the driving record of any individual who will operate an organisation vehicle at any time or who will drive personal or rental cars on company business. A motor vehicle record typically lists license status, license class, expiration date, traffic violations, arrests and convictions for driving under the influence, and license suspensions or cancellations.
