Workplace Strengths Insights: What to learn from last year

Understanding what truly drives a positive employee experience is crucial for any organisation looking to retain talent and maintain high performance. To get a clear picture of the current landscape, we went directly to the source.

For our Employee Voice Report, we analysed the feedback of 17,000 employees. This extensive dataset gave us a unique opportunity to identify exactly what is working well within organisations right now. By aggregating thousands of responses, we were able to pinpoint the specific attributes that employees value most in their day to day work lives. The results provide a benchmark for what a thriving workplace looks like this year. According to the data, these are the top four workplace strengths identified by employees.

1. Community and Customer Focus

Topping the list as the number one strength was Community and Customer Focus. This indicates that employees are currently finding the most satisfaction and strength in the sense of shared purpose within their organisation and their collective dedication to customer outcomes. It suggests that a culture aligned around serving the customer, supported by a strong internal community, is the primary driver of workplace positivity.

2. Teamwork

Coming in as the second highest ranked strength was Teamwork. Despite changes in how and where we work, the data confirms that the ability to collaborate effectively remains a fundamental pillar of the employee experience. Employees are telling us that supportive team structures and peer collaboration are functioning well and remain a highlight of their working lives.

3. Flexibility

Flexibility ranked as the third most prominent strength. As working models have settled over recent years, this ranking suggests that flexibility has transitioned from a perk to a core strength of healthy organisations. Employees continue to value the ability to balance their work and personal commitments, citing it as a key positive factor in their employment.

4. Leadership

Rounding out the top four is Leadership. The analysis shows that employees view the quality of management and guidance they receive as a significant strength. This inclusion in the top four highlights the critical impact that strong, effective leaders have on the overall sentiment of the workforce.

What this means for your organisation The feedback from 17,000 voices is clear. The organisations that are thriving right now are those that foster a strong sense of community, encourage teamwork, maintain flexibility and provide solid leadership. These four pillars are currently the strongest indicators of a positive workplace culture.
